Tar Beach-Second Grade

In 2nd grade we read Tar Beach by Faith Ringgold.  We were inspired by her beautiful illustrations with quilt squares as a border.  We also were inspired to wonder where we would like to fly over like Cassie in the book.  Students came up with wonderful ideas and drawings to show where they would like to fly.  These will be in the hall by the art room soon-come take a look!
