Back to School

We have begun a wonderful year in the art room at Hollymead!  We started the year by creating Abstract Paintings with Meaning.  I gave the directions below to students in 1st-5th and they created beautiful works of art.  The best part is that we all learned so much about each other from this activity.  Be on the look out for these paintings to come home.  See how well you know your child based on their art work!

Directions for this work of art:
o        Paint 3 straight lines with a color you like to wear
o        Paint a circle with a color that represents happiness for you
o        Paint two zig-zag lines with a color you might use when you are angry
o        Paint a triangle with a color you wish you could paint your bedroom
o        Paint a rectangle with a color you would choose when you are sad
o        Paint a square with a color that reminds you of nature
o        Paint a wavy line with a color that represents your home
