Molas

In third grade we are studying Mola art, which is still sewn by women of the Kuna tribe in Panama.  Their work is handsewn, we are using paper to make brightly colored designs inspired by nature.

We've picked an animal to draw using markers, then we are cutting out the design and gluing it to black paper, then we cut strips of colored paper out to make bright patterns surrounding our picture.
